Mr. Rajendra Jha is a twenty two old farmer educated up to graduation level owning one acre of land. Previously, for 4-5 years he was started his career as honey extractor of naturally grown honey comb without any technical knowledge. One day, one of his friends suggested him to start bee keeping occupation. He had consulted KVK, Lakhisarai for this and further motivated by scientist of KVK to attend a training programme on “Bee Keeping” organized by BAU, Sabour, Bhagalpur in 2012. Immediately after attending training, he has adopted bee keeping occupation with great technical knowledge. Regarding bee keeping, he is also continuously getting knowledge and guidance from scientist of KVK, Lakhisarai whenever required.

He had started bee keeping activity with 50 boxes and in short span of time (only 3 yrs.) he had expanded this up to six folds i.e. 300 boxes. He has provided occupation to six more people as labour in his enterprise. He is recognized as a professional beekeeper in Lakhisarai district. His dedication and enthusiasm brought him “District Best Honey Bee Keeper” award by BAU, Sabour in 2014. Many people are coming to him for taking suggestions and visiting his enterprise and four more farmers under his guidance adopted beekeeping occupation.
Government support :
Horticulture department provided 50 boxes on subsidy rate to start the enterprise.
Marketing Strategies :
He used to sell honey directly to companies like Dabur and ATMA @ Rs. 140- 115/Kg.

Sri Awadhesh Kumar Singh is a progressive farmer. His home expenditure depended on farming/ agriculture. It was difficult to maintain house expenditure depending on farming. So, he attended all programme in his village with the help of Krishak Hitkari Group organised by societies. One day he appear in Kisan Choupal conducted by Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Halsi, Lakhisarai on Saturday and known different new technology related to agriculture. He decide to take training from the concerning scientist of the Krishi Vigyan Kendra and adopted Integrated Farming System Model. He grows vegetable, Fruits and rearing goat, poultry and Duck with fishery on one acre farm land. Now, He earning 4 lakh extra income instead of crop production. These days, he is respected socially in his village with economically strong.

Sri Dhananjay Kumar, Vill – Dhira, Post- Halsi, Distt.- Lakhisarai is a progressive youth farmer. He is highly ambitious during study period. He wants to go in medical discipline but due to some circumstances, he could not carry his study ahead and leave after I.Sc. 1stdivision passed. Five days he work in nursing home as compounder but he wants to do something different, so he consulted Krishi Vigyan Kendra. He takes training related to agriculture and animal science and adopted system of rice intensification (SRI). Now he is obtaining approximate 80 Qt./ha rice yield as compared to conventional method that was 50 Qt./ha. He makes a ‘Krishak Hitkari Group’and took training on artificial insemination (A.I). Now he is earning 6 lakh per annum from various sources and respected socially.

Mrs. Meena Devi, Vill – Dhira, P.O. – Halsi, Lakhisarai has attitude to learn. She was working home work as general lady. Her expenditure of her house was depending on farming which was maintained by her husband. It was difficult to maintain home expenditure depending on farming. Meena Devi has desired to learn. So she was attending the entire programme run by KVK, Halsi in his village. She started Paddy cultivation using SRI method in Paddy and got production 72 Qt./ha instead of 32 Qt./ha by traditional method. It makes her excited and adopted IFS Model with Fish cultivation in half acre. She started goatry poultry along with vegetable, fruit, flowering cultivation. She takes training from KVK, Halsi on tomato Ketchup preparation, Pickle preparation and sewing of garments. She founded Mahila Self Help Groupand presently running well. Now she earn from various source amounting Rs 5 lakh per annum viz. cereal cultivation, flower cultivation, rearing of goat, polutry garments sewing and stiching. Now she is well maintaining family and home expenditure very nicely
